It all started with a single bee hive...

Mad Dog Acres was founded in 2019. We are a veteran-owned 37-acre farm between Westport and La Grange, Ky. The property came complete with a beehive and, not really knowing what to do, Melissa decided to learn as much as she could about caring for bees and soon discovered an unknown passion for this incredible superorganism. We now run approximately 30 hives and proudly offer pure, raw Kentucky honey. We are Kentucky Proud and our honey is certified through the Kentucky Certified Honey Program which is operated by the Kentucky State Beekeepers Association. 

 

Curious about the farm name? Scott is a retired United States Air Force C-130 pilot and currently flies the MD-11. The nickname for this aircraft is the Mad Dog. We thought it was very fitting!
